The Partnership Approaches in the UN Global Compacts on Refugees and Migration: The role and experiences of civil society around the world

May 2022

Editors: Dr. Sergio Carrera, Lina Vosyliūtė and Dr. Roberto Cortinovis (CEPS)

The ASILE Forum on the partnership principle brings together contributions by scholars and civil society actors’ testimonies. We have invited academics with expertise on civil society’s role in implementing the UN Global Compacts on Refugees and for Migration as well as practitioners and civil society actors working on the key issues and opportunities for national and transnational mobilisation dynamics. This forum is kicked off in anticipation of the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) that takes place in mid-May at the UN premises in New York to review the Global Compact for Migration.
This ASILE forum aims to draw some lessons from around the Globe coming from diverse civil society contributions, ranging from local migrant and refugee-led organisations to their networks and large international human rights and humanitarian organisations. Participation in the Forum is by invitation only. Unsolicited contributions are welcomed but will be carefully considered and assessed by the Editorial team of this ASILE forum. If you wish to send a contribution to the Forum please contact

If you want to receive news on the newly uploaded contributions, you can register for our ASILE Newsletter.
