The event provided an opportunity to share knowledge of how needs and pathways to durable solutions have altered in Jordan, for experts to provide their academic analysis as to how global frameworks including the Jordan Compact and the Global Compact on Refugees have been applied in Jordan, and to discuss how policies and practices now need to be adapted by different actors.

More specifically, this event will aim to address the following questions:

✓ What are the central challenges and opportunities guiding the Government of Jordan’s approach to the refugee population, and how have these changed in light of the pandemic?

✓ In this changing context, how are the vulnerabilities of refugee populations understood and assessed?

✓ How should we assess the latest developments in the implementation of the Jordan Compact, and have they helped provide opportunities for decent work?

✓ What lessons can be learned in terms of adapting humanitarian and development responses in response to the effects of the pandemic, and to support the achievement of positive medium-term outcomes?

✓ Are the existing financial instruments and modalities of the refugee response working effectively to support positive medium-term outcomes in Jordan, and if not, what can be done differently?
